If There's a Cure for This, I Don't Want It
Here is a time lapse of a recently completed 10" x 20" painting of bacon. This is part of my food obsessions series. In this series I am exploring my personal obsession with food. As the old joke goes, I am on a seafood diet. If I see food I eat it. It is a problem, so I decided to explore it in my art. For this series I am combining food I cannot refuse with text from popular culture dealing with abusive or unhealthy relationships - because there are many similarities and often food obsessions start out as a way of dealing with unhealthy relationships.
I create these in-between other paintings I am creating and will post them when they arrive.

Video: Trees in Ink Workshop
You asked for it... well, actually, you didn't. But here is the video of the Trees in Ink workshop this last weekend at Jack-in-the-Pulpit Studio. It was a great workshop with some really hard working artists. We explored many techniques for using pens and brushes when creating trees in ink. Many thanks to all the students who made this fun and thanks also to Emily Samsel for the music to this video.

Video: Painting a Chicken
First - boil two quarts of water...
Here is a video of me painting a chicken. This video is too fast to notice, but as I was putting the final touch on the beak, a drop of turps ran down off the collar of the brush onto the canvas and I had to spend another fifteen minutes fixing it. Enjoy!
